Today I read a very disturbing article by a self-proclaimed superstar’s wife. She says that it is tough being a superstar's wife; especially a superstar who is well-known for his romantic link-ups in the film industry. Today, we live in the world of yellow journalism, where it is more important to get the inside scoop than care about the sentiments of a person. However, her star husband’s blatant statements like - "It is normal for a man to have intimate relationships outside of marriage”, says it all, doesn't it?
I feel it is ridiculous that any woman has to put up with her husband's debauchery and immorality. Don’t these women have any self-respect? It is because of women that like these the womankind is perceived as weak. Let me say though that I am against divorce at the drop of a hat (i.e. divorce because I don't like my husband's choice of T-shirts). But in my opinion, lechery and abuse (physical and mental) crack the very foundation of marriage. Agreed: To err is human; but consistent slip-ups deserve punishment, not forgiveness.
Is it fear, money, security or power that tempts women not to leave their lecherous husbands? If it is fear, then these women ought to be helped. But how can you help a woman who is so used to a particular lifestyle that she is unwilling to give it up for the sake of her dignity?
I remember an old poem, a mouthful of sky … It is so synonymous with why women like the one described above would want to stay with their husbands in spite of their philandering ways …
Mouthful Of Sky
Earth wind and rain and fire …
Wealth, power, blood, desire . …
One goal to live for before we die …
One taste of glory ….
A mouthful of sky ……

Blatant views on fidelity and the tender mind of a woman.
