Love is such a complex emotion that we could spend our entire lifetime defining and understanding it. Love can take different connotations. Love between mother and her child, brother and sister, two friends, lovers and also between a husband and a wife.
Countless philosophers, thinkers, poets and authors have tried time and again to define their perception of this four lettered word.
Crystal Middlemas says, “Love, like a river, will cut a new path whenever it meets an obstacle.” On the other hand, David Levesque says, “You know you are in love when you see the world in her eyes, and her eyes everywhere in the world.” Whereas, Courtney Kuchta eloquently defines love in her poetry:
“If I could have just one wish,
I would wish to wake up everyday
to the sound of your breath on my neck,
the warmth of your lips on my cheek,
the touch of your fingers on my skin,
and the feel of your heart beating with mine...
Knowing that I could never find that feeling
with anyone other than you.”
I have never imagined myself to be a person who falls in love. But yet, the stubborn persistence of one special person forced me to do some soul searching. Here’s an ode to my dear husband for respecting me, supporting me through tough times, and most of all loving me for the person I am …
When I look into those meaningful eyes,
I see the sparkle of the charming blue skies
Those eyes brim with myriad emotions,
And have the depth of countless oceans
Those eyes speak a language of their own,
Even a lustrous diamond is outshone
In the passion of your eyes I could sublime
And yet keep gazing until the end of time
