As I walk around the malls, shops and even streets - the atmosphere seems electrified. Everywhere I go, I see elaborately decorated Christmas trees, ornately lit front yards, flamboyant shops displaying their Christmas special wares, some person dressed up as Santa posing with the kids for photograph, artificial snow being sprayed on unsuspecting people, and the unsurpassable song “Let it snow” – looming through the air and following me like a haunted ghost wherever I go. A positive vibe of people with varied emotions - laughing, shopping, eating, rejoicing! How can you sit at home being depressed? You are forced to become a part of the world – forced to come out of your cocoon and celebrate the exuberance of life itself!
I have often thought to myself – how would it be to be alone? How would be to have it all – yet be deprived of the most important factor of your life – love? How would it be – to be through the negative phase of your life with no hope in sight? To be honest, it would be scary as hell!
But on second thoughts – greatness has never been achieved from ordinary circumstances. It is the willpower to rise above the ashes that have led men to achieve the extraordinary … There will always be ups and downs in life. But it takes a lot more courage to face the downs, than quit. Thomas Edison has said: "Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." So this holiday season wake up to the smell of freshly baked cookies. Give life another shot … It’s worth it!
Life is a roller coaster ride,
Abound with bliss and fear,
Quitting is no problem,
But the peak might have been near!
So run the last mile
As giving up is a sin
Winners never quit
Quitters never win
